Weitzman ECHO Celebrates 10 Years
See why over 7,500 medical and behavioral health providers from all 50 states have joined the Weitzman ECHO Learning Community, and what they are saying.
Supporting health care professionals since January 2012
Since January 2012, Weitzman ECHO has been engaging with health care professionals to reduce practice isolation across a variety of key topic areas. As one of the earliest replication centers of Project ECHO®, the Weitzman Institute delivers high quality education in an interactive environment, and all medical providers, behavioral health providers, nurses, pharmacists, and others can receive CME/CNE/CEUs for their attendance in ECHO through the Weitzman Institute’s proudly maintained status with Joint Accreditation for Interprofessional Continuing Education.
Interested in joining one of our active ECHO programs?
The Weitzman Institute is currently enrolling for a number of ECHO programs to offer additional support from expert faculty and a community of peers in these challenging topic areas.
Each ECHO program consists of regular videoconferencing sessions that meet via Zoom and use case-based learning to connect participants from around the country to a panel of interdisciplinary expert faculty members. During each session the faculty team will deliver a brief and informative didactic followed by a participant-led case discussion where the faculty will provide helpful and personalized feedback to the participant. Each ECHO takes on a similar learning structure, but they all have a different content focus tailored to the needs of each unique learning community.
- Weitzman ECHO Complex Care Management connects nurses to a team of faculty to assist nurses in practicing to the top of their license and help them provide high-quality, person-centered care to patients.
- Weitzman ECHO Pain connects primary care providers with a multidisciplinary team of pain specialists to improve the care of patients with chronic pain through a trauma-informed lens with a focus on safe opioid reduction strategies.
- Weitzman ECHO MAT provides prescribers, behavioral health providers, and other members of the substance use disorder care team with the support and advice needed to manage their patients with opioid dependence with buprenorphine.
- Weitzman ECHO Key Populations features a multidisciplinary team of experts who provide guidance and consultation on how to best care for the special populations treated at FQHCs, with topics including HIV prevention, screening, and management; viral hepatitis screening and treatment; substance use disorder management; LGB and Transgender health including gender-affirming therapy; and STI screening and treatment.
For Rural Providers and Care Team Members at No Cost
- Weitzman ECHO Complex Integrated Pediatrics explores a variety of timely topics designed to improve clinical outcomes for underserved children and adolescents in rural areas, such as suicidality, vaccines, problematic interactive media use, and dental care.
- Weitzman ECHO Advanced Primary Care helps providers to develop and grow their confidence with complex patient cases by rotating through modules on most-needed topics in rural primary care, beginning with adult psychiatry and substance use disorders.
