The Weitzman Institute continues to solidify its national presence with the opening of a Denver, Colorado office. With support from the Colorado Health Foundation, the office houses staff for the National Institute for Medical Assistant Advancement (NIMAA) and other programs, such as ConferMED.
NIMAA is an innovative model that trains Medical Assistants to work in high performing team-based primary care practices. Ten Colorado health centers currently participate in NIMAA’s program, emphasizing hands-on clinical experience combined with online learning.
ConferMED provides high-quality, specialty eConsults through a single, comprehensive platform that integrates seamlessly into a primary care practice’s existing specialty referral process. ConferMED relies on a national network to deliver rapid response eConsults to primary care providers in every state and territory, and the Denver office will be instrumental in expanding the network.
